Q.  How does a staffing service work?
A.

Companies and businesses use staffing agencies to assist them in finding the right candidates for a wide variety of employment needs. When positions arise, the company typically starts by providing the staffing agency with a list of requirements and a job overview or description for each position that needs to be filled. We assess your needs and provide qualified candidates to fill open positions.

Job seekers use staffing agencies to make connections with companies hiring in their areas of expertise. We identify opportunities among our client companies, and we prepare candidates for successful interviews with those companies. In order to prepare our candidates, we often start with a phone interview, followed by a face-to-face meeting to determine career goals and assess specific skills, such as mechanical aptitude, communications skills, technical ability, and specific computer programming skills. These assessments help validate your skills and abilities, and give you an advantage in finding the right position.

Q.  What is the cost of your services for job seekers?
A.

There is absolutely no cost for the candidate. Our clients pay our fees.

Q.  How long do the assignments last?
A.

Different clients have different needs and depending on the positions they're trying to fill, an assignment can be project based or a full time role. These are the three major types of jobs offered by staffing agencies:

CONTRACT: The start and end date is typically set and determined up front with this type of position. Oftentimes the length of employment will vary, usually longer rather than shorter. As a contractor you are an employee of the staffing agency.

CONTRACT-to-HIRE (right-to-hire): Contract-to-Hire jobs permit an employer to gauge your ability to work for the company on a regular, full-time basis. It is also a way for candidates to evaluate positions for long-term suitability. If your job performance during your time of employment is a fit for the company, oftentimes you will be offered a permanent position after your temporary assignment has ended.

PERMANENT HIRE (direct hire): With a permanent position, the staffing agency acts as a recruiter by screening and hiring candidates for regular positions. Employees are then hired directly by the employer.

Q.  How and when do I get paid?
A.

Payment will differ whether you are on contract or working directly for an employer. The employer will determine whether pay is weekly, bi-weekly, hourly, salary, etc. . Typically most staffing agencies pay on a bi-weekly schedule.

Q.  What are the benefits of using a staffing firm?
A.

A staffing agency can be a great resource and partner for an organization or business hoping to fill a need quickly and effectively with qualified personnel. It can also help ease the placement process for the candidate and the employer, while eliminating any hassles and reducing unnecessary costs. If you are looking for a qualified partner to walk you down the job path, consider the benefits of a staffing agency and let FIT Staffing match you with the job that best suits your goals and abilities.
